Don't Think I Haven't Noticed...

by Danni 11/30/2009 7:13:00 AM

But apparently you geek lovers love the topic of tooting! Don't deny it, my “Fart Eating Blanket” blog is getting way too much love to be ignored. So here is an invention for you avid readers, the iPhone’s Application Rate a Fart 2.0. Not only can you listen to 700+ fart noises, but you can submit your own to be rated and featured on the front page of the app- that is, if your fart is good enough. No worry, practice makes perfect. And I’m not sure of the rating criteria, but length, juiciness, and loudness probably play a part. Silent but deadly ones don’t have a chance in winning. So sad.

See even silly inventions like this one, scratch that, more like life-altering inventions like this one can turn a profit. Start thinking of yours today, while, of course, practicing your flatulence skills. Come on, one of my readers must be featured on the  Fart Hall of Fame or my life just wouldn’t be complete.

Happy Thanksgiving!

by Danni 11/24/2009 6:16:00 AM

Hey there fellow geek lovers! Since I have to run some errands before Turkey Day, I thought I would post now. You know so you have something to read while you lock yourself away in the bathroom to escape THAT family member. We all have one of those. I have two. Lucky me! Anyway, sticking with the Turkey theme, I present you...the Nuwave Oven- an oven that uses infrared, convention, and conduction technology to cook a 10-pound turkey in two hours. This invention makes your life easier on a very stressful day, and therefore is selling like mad. According to the website, "it broils, roasts, grills, bakes, toasts, barbecues, steams, and fries, and even dehydrates all without fats or oils." The part that worries me is the dehydration part. They also claim that it produces a very healthy turkey, which sounds delish to me.

Okay, now everyone put on your Turkey pants! Mine consist of an elastic waist, rhinestones, and pockets to stuff leftover rolls in. Again, Happy Thanksgiving!

Here, Fishy, Fishy

by Danni 11/23/2009 6:01:00 AM

Hammacher Schlemmer is selling the ultimate kayaking experience, a Transparent Canoe Kayak! Now, you can see exactly what is underneath you and therefore paddle faster. Such a neat invention! Although I do feel sorry for the fishes below, look at it from their perspective. People’s behinds are not the most attractive view.

See even existing products can always use some tweaking. With that said, let’s play a game! First, look around your house, work, etc, and write down all the products or services you see that need improvement; from there try to think of prototypes that will improve the original design. Then when you make millions, send your good friend Danni a thank you note and a transparent canoe kayak! Let the game begin.

The Nicest Hamsters You Will Ever Meet

by Danni 11/20/2009 4:56:00 AM

So I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, hamsters are evil! I have had five of them, and not one of them ever let me get near them without trying to take a finger off first (PETA, I swear I fed them).  BUT here is a hamster I can get along with…the Zhu Zhu Pet. Using the same sensor technology of the Roomba vacuum cleaner, these lovable hamsters (yes, I can't believe I used the word lovable to describe hamsters) zip around their playsets with speed and accuracy. They also make 40 different sound effects, ride their own cars, and come in adorable names like Chunk, Pipsqueak, Squiggles, and NumNums (my personal favorite based on the name alone).

The holiday season is coming! Meaning toy inventions sell. So let’s invent to bring in the big bucks. Or we could all just stock up on as many Zhu Zhu Pets as we can get, and sell them for double on Ebay. I mean they are predicted to be the top-selling toy this holiday season! Just kidding. Let’s give parents a fighting chance out there. Plus, a room full of Zhu Zhu Pets is just plain creepy. Imagine Chunks staring you down with his beady little eyes as you try to eat a cupcake. CREEPY.

Diamonds Are Forever, Forever Helpful!

by Danni 11/9/2009 5:04:00 AM

According to research conducted at Northwestern University, diamonds help heal wounds faster. Amazing right? The phenomenon occurs since nanodiamonds bond effectively with insulin, which is used to treat nasty wounds. The scientist Dean Ho bonded insulin with nanodiamonds to create clusters that release insulin slowly (A good thing!) to more targetted areas (Second good thing!) without being evasive to the patient (Ding, Ding! We have a winner). The reason nanodiamond-insulin clusters can target infected areas more efficiently than just insulin by itself is because the nanodiamond-insulin cluster needs a base ph level for a reaction, and this base ph level is found only in infected tissue.

And that kids, is your science lesson for the day! See diamonds aren't just a girl's best friend, they are everybody's best friend! Think of all the people this new procedure will help! Check out www.inventionresource.com if you have a brillant medical idea that will improve the lives of others, or if you just want to invent like me.

And I have to say it, will we be just as sparkly and beautiful as him?

Yea, I wish.

In Case the Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt Does Not Come in Kid Sizes...

by Danni 11/3/2009 4:14:00 AM

There is always Mouth Man hoodies for the kids.

The creator Ross Valory, an original member of the band Journey, came up with the idea by seeing a kid doing just that- crossing arms while making monster noises. Of course, he didn't look as cool as these kids (or kid? Or twins? Or clones? Confusing). I actually think it is a fun idea for the kids, even for the adults! I can imagine myself wearing the shark one to next year's Halloween party, and looking pretty SHARP (Get it? Ha Ha).

Unfortunately for me, these hoodies only come in child sizes (2T, 4T, 6, 8, 12), and will only set you back $25 dollars with a lifelong supply of headaches (repetitive chomping noises will do that to a person). But look on the the brightside, you don't have to lug toys around for their entertainment, this is a toy! I can just see it now, chomping battles between T-rex and Orca Whale at every doctor's office. Sign me up!

If you want to check out or purchase one of these hoodies, go to mouthman.com. And remember to keep your eyes open, since inspiration for a new product can come from anywhere.  Let's keep inventing out there!

Also, on a side note, thank you for posting comments! I enjoy reading them, and it keeps me fueled on to continue writing. Hear Hear to my readers!
